Essential Technique - Front Knee

There are a couple of different types of knee strikes... this is the front knee where the knee is rising directly to the front.

The obvious targets are the attacker's groin or stomach (solar plexus). However, if we are to the side of the attacker we can target the thigh muscle which is also particularly effective. The knee strike is use in close range fighting and included in many of our defensive techniques:In combination with other striking techniques Where the attacker has grabbed us (e.g., bear hugs, chokes)Where we are controlling the attacker because the attacker has a weapon (e.g., knife, pistol or stick threats or attacks)

p.s. If you are interested in finding out a bit more about weapon defences, we teach these in all our classes as well as having specific classes. Click here: weapon-defences for more information.
